Analysis:

The Andretti Autosport veteran had a strong run Friday in the first race of the weekend doubleheader at Indianapolis. Rossi scored his third-consecutive podium finish and career-best finish on the Indianapolis road course. Were it not for a boundary line penalty, Rossi may have challenged Josef Newgarden for the win.
