Kurt Busch: Wins the South Point 400

Busch won the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Sunday night.

Analysis:

This important playoff race would pivot on the fortunes of a late caution. Jimmie Johnson would lose a tire and the ensuing caution would trap many drivers off the lead lap as green-flag pit stops were underway. Busch was one of a handful of drivers still on the lead lap after this played out. The Chip Ganassi Racing veteran would lead the final 29 laps and survive NASCAR overtime to capture the win. Busch transfers into the next round of the Chase playoffs as a result of the victory.
