Seahawks' Bruce Irvin crosses line with April Fools' DUI joke

Seattle Seahawks rush linebacker Bruce Irvin thinks drinking and driving is a laughing matter.
That's what he told the world, at least, when he posted a series of tweets Wednesday about an apparent incident in which he claimed to be arrested for driving under the influence:
As some suspected, Irvin's tweets were part of an ill-advised April Fools' Day joke, which he confirmed half an hour later:
Irvin's stunt was met with widespread criticism, with most pointing out that joking about drinking and driving - especially in a league where DUIs are rampant - is in very poor taste.
Irvin's quip about needing to earn fans' trust back may prove to be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
