76ers' Jason Richardson out with knee soreness, swelling

John Geliebter / USA TODAY Sports

Jason Richardson's return to the court after more than two years earlier this season was one of the feel good stories of another miserable Philadelphia 76ers campaign, but the veteran shooting guard now appears to be dealing with a setback.

Richardson, who missed the team's last game, will be sidelined for at least a few more due to continued knee soreness and swelling.

It was knee and ankle issues that kept him sidelined from Jan. 2013 until Feb. 2015.

The 34-year-old is averaging 8.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists on a career-worst 31.7 percent shooting in a career-low 22.8 minutes per game through 15 contests.

Given that there are only eight games remaining in the season and Richardson is in the final year of his contract, it's fair to wonder what kind of future the 14-year veteran has left in the Association.
