Seahawks' Russell Wilson not concerned about contract talks

As Russell Wilson takes the field at the Texas Rangers' spring-training practices, discussions loom on a long-term contract with the Seattle Seahawks that is certain to put him among the NFL's highest-paid players.

Though negotiations can be a difficult process, with a player's future often in question, Wilson knows he and and the Seahawks will work out a deal to keep him with the team for the foreseeable future.

“I've been fortunate enough to win a lot of games at such a young age and to be able to play with some great guys and have some great comeback wins and win a Super Bowl, and go to back to back Super Bowls," Wilson told reporters Saturday

"It's been special. So that's what I focus on. I focus on the next opportunity that I have. The rest will come. I believe God is going to bless me. I don't know what's going to happen, but I trust always. And I trust it's going to work out the way it's supposed to."

Despite a dominant defense and running game, the argument could be made that the Seahawks wouldn't have reached the Super Bowl in either of the last two seasons were it not for Wilson's presence under center.

In doing so, he became the youngest quarterback in the history of the NFL to have started two games on football's biggest stage.

Whether the deal comes at some point this offseason or next, it's only a matter of time before Wilson is rewarded for both the unprecedented career success thus far and what his potential would suggest is still to come.
