Report: NFL to begin research on adding replay cameras to stadiums

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

The NFL will begin research Monday into adding cameras to the goal line and other stadium areas for replay, according to NFL Media's Albert Breer.

As part of its research, the league is looking to find the right technology and figure out a way to integrate the cameras into the current replay system that will work best for all 31 stadiums, Breer reports.

As Breer notes, the diversity of stadiums could make it difficult for the NFL to pull off such a move with perfect uniformity, but the system makes a lot of sense from both a fan and league perspective.

A new camera system could be implemented by owners in May during the NFL's spring meeting in San Francisco.
