Rams' Fisher: 'It's our intention to draft' a quarterback

Nick Foles' arrival in St. Louis hasn't changed the Rams plans to draft a quarterback.

At the NFL Annual Meeting last week, Rams head coach Jeff Fisher confirmed that the team is still looking for a quarterback in April's draft, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

"It's our intention to draft one," Fisher said. "The Nick trade has no bearing over what we do in the draft."

The Rams own the 10th overall pick and have picks early in the second and third round as well.

They are unlikely to get either Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota in the first round, but Bryce Petty and Brett Hundley could both be on the board when the Rams make the 41st overall pick on Day 2.

Fisher has praised Petty for having a very strong arm and the team is set to meet with the Baylor product before the draft.

Garrett Grayson and Sean Mannion could be late-round options for the team, but in a weak quarterback class, they may be best suited to take whoever they like early and develop that player behind Foles.
