Chris Culliver's felony brass knuckles charge reduced to misdemeanor

Ed Szczepanski / USA TODAY Sports

Washington Redskins cornerback Chris Culliver had felony possession of brass knuckles charges reduced to a misdemeanor after an incident last year.

Culliver also was charged with one court of misdemeanor hit-and-run from the same incident, although the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office presented an objection, reports Tracey Kaplan and Robert Salonga from the San Jose Mercury News.

Superior Court Judge Shelyna Brown cited Culliver's lack of criminal history in reducing the charges.

The 26-year-old spent the first four years of his career with the San Francisco 49ers, before joining the Redskins on a four-year contract this offseason.
