Barao sends a message to Dillashaw: 'You can run, but you can't hide'

Renan Barao's chance at redemption was derailed Tuesday, after his rematch with bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw was pulled from UFC 186 because the Team Alpha Male product suffered a fractured rib while training.

Barao, obviously frustrated with the situation, posted the following message on Instagram (as translated by MMAFighting.com's Guilherme Cruz) bemoaning the loss of his title shot:

Guys, as you all might know, my opponent T.J. Dillashaw got hurt and we won't fight on April 25 anymore. It's a shame because I was preparing myself the best way possible for this fight.

Therefore, I only have one thing to say at this moment: Dillashaw, you can run, but you can't hide. Your time will come and you will have to do everything you say you're going to do, without running, or I’ll make you swallow your own words.

I will be waiting.

Barao, once considered bulletproof in the 135-pound weight class, was upset by Dillashaw in devastating fashion at UFC 173, absorbing a brain-scrambling head kick in the first round before sleep walking through the bout until being violently finished via TKO midway through the fifth and final frame.

The two were originally set for a rematch at UFC 177, but a botched weight cut sent Barao to the hospital, and he was replaced in the main event by UFC newcomer Joe Soto.
