Ozil unimpressed by shirt-swap talk: 'Is there nothing more important to discuss?'

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil can't catch a break in the English media.

It must be a symptom of losing so many times to Germany over the years, but that's a discussion for another day.

Ozil was the center of attention following the Gunners' 2-0 victory over Monaco in Tuesday's Champions League match, with his decision to swap shirts with French midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia at half-time drawing much ire.

ITV pundits Clive Tyldesley and Paul Scholes were both angered by Ozil's actions, with many others sharing the same feelings.

While those people are badly out of touch with reality and are wasting their breath pontificating about a non-issue, Ozil was forced to answer a question posed to him about the swap after the match.

"Geoffrey Kondogbia asked me for my shirt and I wanted to do him a favour," Ozil simply told Sky Sports Germany, as reported by Chris Davie of Goal.com.

"Maybe I should have given him the shirt in the tunnel. But seriously guys, is there nothing more important to discuss for a knockout game than a shirt swap?"

Preach, Mesut. This whole thing is ridiculous and anybody upset about it can be described in a similar manner. As a wise character once said, some men just want to watch the world burn.
