Thunder's Ibaka out again with sore knee, Adams to start

Gary A. Vasquez / USA TODAY Sports

The Oklahoma City Thunder will roll with a new-look starting lineup on Sunday when they take on the Chicago Bulls.

With power forward Serge Ibaka being ruled out for a second consecutive game due to a sore right knee, the Thunder will insert Steven Adams (whose status was also in doubt due to a thigh contusion) into the starting lineup.

Adams has been coming off the bench since returning from a hand fracture a week ago. He'll be slotted in alongside Enes Kanter, a starting lineup the Thunder have yet to experiment with since acquiring Kanter from the Utah Jazz at the trade deadline.

In replacing rookie Mitch McGary, who started in Ibaka's place on Friday, with Adams, the Thunder will effectively lead off with two centers, likely a way to counter the Bulls' huge front line.

The Thunder enter the game tied with the New Orleans Pelicans for the Western Conference's eighth and final playoff spot.
