Pacers' Hibbert out Thursday with elbow infection

Sam Sharpe / USA Today Sports

Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert is suffering from a left elbow infection and will sit out Thursday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Hibbert, who was downgraded from probable to questionable, didn't practice Wednesday but Pacers head coach Frank Vogel doesn't appear concerned the injury is anything that will affect him long term.

Vogel told reporters it's not as serious as the staph infection that forced Los Angeles Clippers All-Star Blake Griffin to undergo surgery, keeping him out for over the last month.

Hibbert's averaging 10.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 25.4 minutes. The Pacers enter Thursday in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, 4.5 games back of the sixth-place Bucks.
