Report: LaRon Landry suspended for first 10 games of 2015

Pat Lovell / USA TODAY Sports

Free-agent safety LaRon Landry has been suspended for the first 10 games of the 2015 season, according to Field Yates of ESPN.

The suspension comes after Landry violated terms of the NFL policy on performance-enhancing drugs, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Landry was released by the Indianapolis Colts in February in what was thought to be a cost-cutting measure that saved them $2.25 million against the cap.

The veteran safety already served a four-game suspension during the season for the use of PEDs and lost his starting job to Mike Adams as a result.

Landry now faces a tough road back to the NFL, with teams likely to pass on signing him in free agency while he's serving his suspension.
