Report: Bucks to sign Chris Johnson to 10-day contract

Because what the Milwaukee Bucks need is another player with a 6-foot-11 wingpsan.

The Bucks sure do have a type, valuing length and versatility on the defensive end above all else. It makes sense, then, that they're set to sign Chris Johnson out of the D-League, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

Johnson, a 6-foot-6 small forward with a nearly-7-foot wingspan, will be inked to a 10-day contract, the third time this season he's surfaced with an NBA team.

Undrafted out of Dayton in 2012, Johnson has had cups of coffee with the Memphis Grizzlies, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and Utah Jazz over the last three years. In 59 career games, he's averaged 5.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in 18.9 minutes, hitting 33 percent of his threes.

Between NBA stints, Johnson has plied his trade with Rio Grande Valley of the D-League, where he was averaging 20.1 points and 5.8 rebounds this season.

The Bucks are playing with only 12 healthy players, two of whom are banged up. With five games in eight days starting Saturday, the Bucks could use the additional wing depth and Johnson could be a nice fit in head coach Jason Kidd's defense.
