Greg Scruggs says he's re-signed with Seahawks

Joe Nicholson / USA TODAY Sports

Greg Scuggs is too excited to wait for the Seahawks' official announcement.

The defensive end said in an Instagram post Thursday that he's re-signed with the team ahead of the start of free agency on March 10th.

"Teams rarely take chances, let alone take chances after a double knee injury. Thankful to the @seahawks for the opportunity to sign on another year and be the best I can be to help the team win. #GoHawks," wrote Scuggs.

An ACL tear ended Scuggs' 2013 season before it began. Last season the 24-year-old played just two games before suffering another knee injury during Week 9 against the Oakland Raiders.

The 6-foot-3, 310-pound Louisville product was drafted by Seattle in the seventh round of the 2012 draft.
