Report: Adrian Peterson would consider restructuring contract to facilitate trade

No matter where Adrian Peterson plays in 2015, he may have to restructure his sizable contract.

The running back would apparently consider that possibility in order to make a trade happen, according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports.

Peterson is slated to make more than $12 million in 2015. That's a hefty salary for a back closing in on 30 and coming off a lost season - even one as talented as Peterson.

Peterson's relationship with the Minnesota Vikings is rocky at the moment. He expressed uneasiness about returning to the team after they agreed to place him on the exempt list in 2014.

Head coach Mike Zimmer and general manager Rick Spielman are scheduled to meet with Peterson in Houston on Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

The Vikings could be forced to trade him if things continue to sour, and Peterson's father recently noted his son would play for Dallas, Indianapolis and Arizona. Robinson added that San Diego and Tampa Bay could also be on that list.
