Redskins' DeAngelo Hall out to prove doubters wrong after Achilles injury

Playing at a high level in the National Football League past age 30 is a challenge. The task becomes that much more difficult after a serious injury.

Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall, 31, will try to do just that in 2015 after rupturing his Achilles tendon last season.

Hall told Redskins.com on Sunday that rehabilitation has been a long process, but he's finally making some strides.

"For me, the last three or four months prior to four or five weeks ago I was not weight-bearing," Hall said. "So, I had to ride around on the scooter, hop around with a boot on. So, it’s been nice to be able to walk with shoes on, go through some of the movements I’ll be doing on the field."

The veteran is a three-time Pro Bowler, but the last time he achieved the distinction was in 2010. There are those who believe he won't be able to return to that level coming off the injury.

"I'm focused, man," he said. "I’m ready to go, ready to compete, ready to prove everyone wrong who thinks I can’t come back. I know I can still play, I know I still want to play, I know there’s still a lot of plays out there for me to make - make those plays, help our team win games and eventually a Super Bowl."

The Super Bowl might be a lofty goal for a team that hasn't won more than three games in the past two seasons, but a healthy Hall would certainly help the Washington pass defense.
