Patrick Sharp's agent says the Chicago Blackhawks forward isn't going anywhere.

Rick Curran told Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune he spoke with Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman on Thursday and was assured the team has no intention of trading the player.

Kuc reported on Friday that the Blackhawks and Washington Capitals engaged in trade discussions involving Sharp.

Sharp, with 32 points in 49 games, is a two-time Stanley Cup champion and a seven-time 20-goal scorer. He carries a cap hit of $5.9 million this season and is signed through 2017.
