Charlton Athletic admit viral sex video was a publicity stunt

There was always something a bit incredulous about the security footage from Charlton Athletic's stadium that showed a couple having sex at the centre of the pitch.

The video made the rounds on the Internet for days before Charlton's commercial manager Mark Hassan-Ali admitted it was a publicity stunt.

"We decided to own up and explain that it was set up by us to launch our pitch hire campaign," he said, courtesy of the BBC.

The club put the viral video together as an attention grabber to their new offer to fans interested in "scoring" for real at the team's stadium, The Valley.

It's a curious way to bring attention to a deal that offers fans, and presumably children, the chance to rent the pitch during the summer months.

Nonetheless, Charlton released the full version of the video.

Assuming it can't be considered NSFW since it's a publicity stunt, it's probably a safe bet to make sure the boss isn't hovering around by the 1:00 mark of the video.
