Patrick Kane's injury could result in a mass recruitment of arms in Chicago.

The Chicago Blackhawks are intent on spending the long-term injury salary relief made available in wake of the superstar winger's broken clavicle, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie

McKenzie believes the Blackhawks are the team most interested in making a deal before Monday's deadline and are one of a half-dozen teams interested in Arizona Coyotes forward Antoine Vermette.

He also suggested Chicago has interest in Calgary Flames forward Curtis Glencross and Columbus Blue Jackets forward Cam Atkinson.

If there's a silver lining to Kane's injury, it's that Chicago can spend the $6.3 million he's owed to bolster the roster before the postseason begins, and have him return without penalty during the playoffs, as the cap becomes void.

Kane's timeline projects he can return from his broken clavicle in time for the Western Conference final.
