Report: Grizzlies' Vince Carter expected back at practice in 7-10 days

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

The Memphis Grizzlies should have Vince Carter back for their playoff run.

Carter, out with a torn tendon in his left foot, is expected back at practice in the next week-to-10 days, according to Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears. A timeframe for Carter's return to game action will be determined once he's back on the practice floor.

Carter, 38, chose rest and rehab over surgery, and is hoping to put his early-season struggles behind him once he gets back on the floor.

The 16-year veteran is averaging only six points on 33.4 percent shooting, 1.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 16.6 minutes in 44 games. He's signed through 2017-18 after inking a three-year, $12-million contract this past offseason.
