Mavs rest Stoudemire Wednesday

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

With the Dallas Mavericks on the second night of a back-to-back, Amar'e Stoudemire will sit out Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks to rest.

Stoudemire played 17 minutes in Dallas's victory over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday after logging 11 minutes in his Mavs debut Sunday.

The 32-year-old, who has a history of knee injuries and missed time this season with ankle, wrist and knee troubles, has played in only 11 games since Dec. 19.

Stoudemire is averaging 11.9 points and 6.6 rebounds in 23.5 minutes per game with the Mavs and New York Knicks.
