VIDEO: Arsenal stunned after deflection gives Monaco early lead

Several missed opportunities came back to haunt Arsenal after the hosts found themselves down to AS Monaco at halftime thanks to a fluke goal.

The Ligue 1 side opened the scoring courtesy of a massive deflection off Per Mertesacker when Geoffrey Kondogbia's long-range effort smacked off the German and past a stunned David Ospina.

Ospina was so helpless after the deflection that the Colombian 'keeper's only movement on the shot was when he fell on his backside in disbelief.

It's a bitterly disappointing start to the match for Arsenal after controlling so much of the game in the opening 30 minutes, but reckless passes and poor execution in the final third will surely inspire a passionate halftime speech from manager Arsene Wenger.
