Arsenal's Szczesny to start FA Cup match vs. Middlesbrough

Wojciech Szczesny is set to make a return between the sticks during Arsenal's FA Cup encounter with Middlesbrough.

Manager Arsene Wenger confirmed the Polish 'keeper's starting spot Friday.

"(He has responded) very well,” Wenger said. "He's very good in training. He responded in a very determined and focused way.

He's appeared to be the team's primary option during the tournament, with David Ospina favoured in league matches.

But that may change based on Szczesny's performance Sunday.

“He’s ready to play. At the moment I feel I left Ospina in because he has done well but Wojciech is completely ready and has impressed in training.

Szczesny's last start took place Jan. 25 against Brighton and Hove Albion, while his last start in the Premier League was New Year's Day during a dreadful appearance against Southampton.
