Daniel Hemric: Not Returning to RCR

Richard Childress Racing announced Tuesday afternoon that Hemric will not return to the No. 8 in the Cup Series next season. Childress has said he expects Tyler Reddick to move to Cup next year and this opening up a seat for that opportunity, Richard Childress Racing PR reports.

Analysis:

It's a tough break for Hemric who hasn't even completed his rookie season yet in the No. 8 Chevrolet. RCR is making room in their two-car team for Tyler Reddick to be promoted to the Cup level in 2020. He'll apparently take over the No. 8 Chevrolet and race for Rookie of the Year honors next season. Hemric will have to enter the free agent driver market and look for the best available seat he can find.
