Report: Ray Allen to make decision after All-Star break; Hawks interested

As the basketball world continues to wait for Ray Allen to make an announcement about his playing status for this season, ESPN's Ryan Russillo reported Thursday that Allen is expected to make a decision after the All-Star break.

Russillo also reports that the league-leading Atlanta Hawks may be in the mix, while the Cleveland Cavaliers remain the favorites.

Allen has yet to announce if he'll return for a 19th season, but he has no shortage of reported suitors.

In addition to the Cavs and now the Hawks, Allen's name was linked to the Miami Heat, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers, Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs over the course of the offseason.

The 39-year-old spent the last two seasons with the Heat, averaging 10.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists off the bench.

Allen's 37.5 3-point percentage last season was his lowest mark in four years and fell well short of his career average of 40 percent. But he also shot threes at a nearly 42-percent clip in 2012-13 and likely remains more than capable of being one of the game's better reserve sharpshooters.
