Knicks' Stoudemire, Aldrich will not play Tuesday against Celtics

The New York Knicks will be without both center Cole Aldrich and power forward Amar'e Stoudemire when they take on the Boston Celtics on Tuesday, the team announced.

Stoudemire is dealing with an ankle injury which also kept him out of the Knicks' last three contests. Aldrich has a shin injury.

The Knicks were thin enough in the frontcourt as it were and Stoudemire and Aldrich have been the Knicks' two most reliable bigs. Aldrich has done a solid job on the glass and in protecting the basket, while Stoudemire has chipped in with reliable scoring off the bench.

Without the two, the Knicks turn to Lou Amundson and Jason Smith to start in the frontcourt.

On the year, Stoudemire is averaging 12.2 points and seven rebounds per game. Aldrich is averaging 5.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 16.7 minutes per game.
