Hardwood Highlight of the Night: Vasquez 3 gives Raps the lead

Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

The Toronto Raptors weren't exactly crisp on offense Wednesday night against the Washington Wizards. In fact, for a good chunk of their 95-93 win, the Toronto offense seemed to consist mainly of DeMar DeRozan and Lou Williams jacking up shots.

Early in the fourth quarter, things started to come together a little better. With Greivis Vasquez running the point, he beat his man, 38-year-old Andre Miller, with the help of a James Johnson screen.

Thinking high pick and roll, Vasquez bounces a pass to Johnson. But the Raptors' forward, in his second straight start, quickly finds the lane clogged with Wizards, specifically his man Drew Gooden and Miller.

With Gooden and Miller closing, Johnson quickly kicks it back to Vasquez - who has all the time and space in the world for an open three with Gooden unable to get back on his switch.

Vasquez finished the game 3-of-5 from deep with 11 points. The play can be seen in it's entirety below:
