Brandon Jennings sustains apparent lower-leg injury

The Detroit Pistons were dealt a heavy blow Saturday, as point guard Brandon Jennings had to be helped off the court after appearing to injure his left leg.

The play appeared rather harmless, as Jennings was guarding an inbound pass by the Milwaukee Bucks. He lost his footing and his foot lurched forward, which caused his ankle to distend. He then writhed in pain for an entire possession before leaving through the tunnel on a wheelchair.

The incident can be seen below.

Jennings's injury really takes the wind out of the Pistons' sails, as they are 13-2 since waiving Josh Smith. During that time, Jennings has averaged 20 points, 7.2 rebounds in 28.5 minutes per game while shooting 40.4 percent from deep.

Without him, the Pistons will turn to D.J. Augustin to steer the point. Augustin is averaging 8.6 points and 4.3 assists per game.

In the post game, Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy commented on the injury.
