DeRozan leads Raptors past 76ers with season-high 35

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Toronto Raptors came into Philadelphia to play the 76ers in desperate need of a win. Two nights after losing to the pathetic New York Knicks, they got it.

DeMar DeRozan rebounded from a subpar stretch of at least five games - and some questionable shot selection early on - to put up a season-high 35 points in Toronto's 114-103 win over the Sixers.

Point guard Kyle Lowry, Toronto's engine, sat for the second straight game - ostensibly for rest, but likely to heal nagging issues. DeRozan added nine rebounds and five assists with his backcourt mate out, while Lou Williams chipped in with 21 points off the bench.

The game didn't feature much defense. Both teams shot over 51 percent from the floor and over 40 percent from deep. The Raptors' Amir Johnson tried to do his part, grabbing seven rebounds and blocking a shot while adding four points in the effort.
