Cole Custer: Wins Xfinity Pole at Bristol
Custer won the pole for the Alsco 300 Xfinity Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway Saturday morning. He turned a fast lap of 126.503 mph.
Analysis:
There were few surprises in pole qualifying for the Xfinity Series Saturday morning at Bristol. The No. 00 Ford has been strong ever since the Stewart Haas Racing team unloaded it, and that remained the case in the running for the pole. Custer easily beat out Tyler Reddick in the final round of knockout qualifying to grab the top starting spot for Saturday afternoon's 300-lap race. It was the young SHR driver's first pole of the season and seventh of his career. Custer will be a top contender to win the Alsco 300.
