The second leg of Real Sociedad's home-and-away versus Villarreal in the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey saw Esteban Granero provide his side with a lifeline and score the type of goal we were all hoping to see more often throughout his career.
With Sociedad trailing 3-1 on aggregate in the 75th minute, Granero played a wonderful give-and-go with Carlos Vela, who chipped the ball over Villarreal's backline, allowing El Pirata to run onto the pass and slot his shot past Sergio Asenjo.
Villarreal held on for a 3-2 win on aggregate to advance to the tournament's quarterfinals.
