Report: Pelicans may send Rivers to Clippers following 3-way Green trade

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

This trade is expanding by the hour.

The details of a reported three-team trade between the New Orleans Pelicans, Memphis Grizzlies and Boston Celtics have finally come out, courtesy of ESPN's Marc Stein.

The framework of the deal would see Jeff Green dealt to Memphis, but matching salaries has proven to be difficult. Earlier Saturday afternoon, it was reported the Pelicans would receive Memphis shooting guard Quincy Pondexter, while sending out Austin Rivers.

3-Team Trade Receives Sends
Memphis Jeff Green, Russ Smith Tayshaun Prince, Quincy Pondexter, 1st round pick
Boston Austin Rivers, Tayshaun Prince, 1st round pick Jeff Green
New Orleans Quincy Pondexter, 2nd round pick Austin Rivers, Russ Smith

However, the Celtics have no interest in keeping Rivers, who is likely to be dealt in a separate deal. The Celtics apparently found a taker in the Clippers, reports Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today. It should be noted that the Clippers' basketball operations decisions are made by Austin's father, Doc Rivers.
