Report: Braves have interest in Brandon Beachy

Daniel Shirey / USA TODAY Sports

Following the Atlanta Braves' somewhat surprising decision to non-tender right-hander Brandon Beachy last month, it appears the team is open to a possible reunion.

The Braves have remained in contact with Beachy, according to David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and are interested in possibly signing the 28-year-old.

Beachy spent his entire four-year career with the Braves, but has thrown just 111 innings over the past three seasons due to a pair of Tommy John surgeries.

The 28-year-old last pitched in 2013, posting a 2-1 record and 4.50 ERA in 30 innings.

Beachy, who was projected to earn around $1.45 million through salary arbitration before the Braves parted ways with him, has reportedly drawn interest from as many as 10 teams.

The Texas Rangers were interested in Beachy, though Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reported Wednesday that was no longer the case.
