Carlos Tevez not planning to renew contract with Juventus after 2016 season

Carlos Tevez is planning for his future.

The Juventus striker, whose contract with the club expires in 2016, told reporters on Wednesday that he's leaning towards a future elsewhere once his current deal comes to an end.

"I want to respect my contract until 2016, that's my plan. I don't want to extend, that's how I feel at the moment," Tevez said.

The declaration isn't surprising, as Tevez has on many occasions discussed returning to his homeland of Argentina to finish his career.

The 30-year-old began his professional career with Boca Juniors, where he spent three years after having previously spent time in the club's youth team. Should he return home, it is widely expected that he would end up back at the legendary Argentine side.

Before Juventus supporters begin panicking, the fact that Tevez still has 18 months remaining on his contract should provide some relief - as should the fact that human beings have been known to change their minds on occasion.
