Jazz's Burks to miss third straight game with shoulder injury

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Utah Jazz guard Alec Burks will miss another game Tuesday night when Utah hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves. Burks has been dealing with a left shoulder strain, an injury he initially sustained on Dec. 2 when flagrantly fouled by the Nuggets' forward Arron Affalo.

Burks missed two games in the wake of the injury, with reports coming out that the fourth-year combo guard was considering surgery. However, he returned to the Jazz lineup and scored in double digits in eight of nine games before sitting back down the last two contests.

Burks signed a $42-million extension with Utah in the off-season.
