Jazz's Alec Burks out with shoulder injury

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Alec Burks' left shoulder pain won't go away.

The Utah Jazz's shooting guard will be on the sidelines for Saturday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers, the team announced.

Burks has been dealing with a left shoulder issue throughout December, which forced him to miss a pair of games earlier in the month. He was hurt after landing hard following a flagrant foul, and also missed a preseason contest with left shoulder soreness, too.

Burks hasn't showed much sign of improvement in his fourth year after inking a four-year, $42-million deal at the start of the season.

The 23-year-old is averaging 13.9 points on a career-low 40.3 percent shooting from the field, while adding 4.2 rebounds and three assists.
