Kurt Busch: Wins Pole at Charlotte Roval

Busch won the inaugural Charlotte Motor Speedway road course Busch Pole Award after he maneuvered the 17-turn, 2.28-mile course at 106.868 mph in the No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford, NASCAR.com reports.

Analysis:

It was an intriguing qualifying session with many of the big Cup stars failing to make the 12-driver cut to the second round. Busch would advance and go out late in the final session to knock A.J. Allmendinger from the top of the timing charts. It was his fourth pole position of the season, and 26th of his Monster Energy Cup Series career. Busch is a superb road course racer, and should challenge the Top 5 Sunday in the inaugural Bank of America Roval 400.
