Raptors' Fields fails concussion test Sunday, won't play vs. Knicks

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

It sounded like Toronto Raptors guard/forward Landry Fields was doing well after falling on his head Friday night in Detroit.

However, the Raptors announced Sunday that Fields did not pass Sunday's batch of concussion tests, sidelining him against the New York Knicks. This comes a day after he passed testing and practiced with the team.

He also passed concussion testing Friday night after the incident, in which he fell over a submarining Kyle Singler and landed hard on the floor. He required eight stitches to the back of his head.

Fields has been effective starting for the Raptors in the absence of DeMar DeRozan.
