Turiaf (hip) underwent successful surgery Tuesday and will miss the remainder of the season, Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Analysis:

With Turiaf ruled out for the rest of 2014-15, the Wolves are likely to waive him at some point in hopes of adding another productive player. Turiaf's $1.6 million deal expires after this season, and coach Flip Saunders said Tuesday that the team would waive him "if there's the right person available." One option could be signing Jeff Adrien for the rest of the season. Adrien is currently on a 10-day contract that expires Friday. Another option suggested in a Star Tribune report is former Baylor standout Brady Heslip, who is lighting up the D-League with elite, volume three-point shooting. While the Wolves would likely prefer a guard with a better defensive reputation, the organization is already familiar with Heslip, who spent training camp with Minnesota.
