Nets deal Kirilenko to 76ers for Brandon Davies

The Brooklyn Nets finally unloaded forward Andrei Kirilenko on Thursday.

As initially reported, the Nets dealt Kirilenko – along with guard Jorge Gutierrez, a 2020 second-round pick and the right to swap second-rounders in 2018 – to the Philadelphia 76ers for forward Brandon Davies.

With the move, the Nets announced, they have created trade exceptions of $3.4 million and $916,000 and will save somewhere in the vicinity of $11 million in luxury tax payments.

The 76ers, meanwhile, continue their quest to acquire all the draft picks. They are expected to waive Kirilenko, who has reportedly said he doesn't plan to play in the NBA for the foreseeable future. It's unclear what they plan to do with Gutierrez, who has appeared in 10 games with the Nets this season, averaging 1.6 points in 4.3 minutes.

Davies has shown flashes in his second season of being a capable NBA role player, even when saddled on a strategically terrible 76ers team. He's struggled of late, but in his first five games of the season the undrafted 23-year-old posted totals of 20,18, 13 and 12 points.

For the season, he's averaging 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in 19 minutes per game.
