Bulls' Rose takes part in practice, probable for Friday
After exiting another game early just two games into his latest return, Derrick Rose went through a full practice with the Chicago Bulls on Thursday.
Rose missed four consecutive games due to left hamstring tightness and left Tuesday's game against the Denver Nuggets because of similar tightness. Rose had also played the night before in Utah, logging about 35 combined minutes against the Nuggets and Jazz.
Though he was happy with Rose's practice, head coach Tom Thibodeau still wasn't sure whether Rose would be available for Friday afternoon's game against the Boston Celtics. He is officially listed as probable.
Given that Rose has yet to play more than two consecutive games in over a year now, it's fair to assume this kind of day-to-day uncertainty will continue all season. And Rose's comments Thursday didn't exactly clear anything up.
"If I'm ready to go, I'm ready. If not, just really pay attention to my body," Rose said, as reported by ESPN's Nick Friedell. "But the plan is that I want to play. So hopefully I'll be out there playing."
On Wednesday, Thibodeau said it was his decision to hold Rose out for the second half against the Nuggets as a precaution.
Rose has averaged 15.7 points, five assists and 2.4 rebounds in seven games so far this season.
