Garnett on Kidd: 'Don't forget what he has done for Brooklyn and New Jersey'

Emotions will run high when Jason Kidd returns to Brooklyn with his Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, but Kevin Garnett hopes Nets fans remember the good times with the franchise's former coach and franchise player.

"It will be good to see him in the building. Hope people don't forget that, what he has done for Brooklyn and New Jersey and over the years," Garnett said Tuesday, as reported by ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk.

"I think that sometimes we as fans forget and I think that's important to remember the good. Obviously, he is in another organization but don't forget the good that he's done for this organization and that is the message here."

After leading the Nets to the second round of the postseason in his first campaign as a head coach last year, Kidd reportedly made a power play for more control over basketball operations, leading to an offseason trade that sent him to Milwaukee.

Nets guard Joe Johnson said he doesn't take Kidd's departure personally.

"For any one of you guys to get a job promotion that is going to pay you a little more than what you are already making, then probably you are going to evaluate it and if you feel like it is the best move for you, you're going to take the job, right?" Johnson said.

"So I don't know how mad you can be. This is a business first and foremost. Sometimes people tend to lose sight of that."
