BERLIN - Former Germany international goalkeeper Tim Wiese is set to make his professional wrestling debut in a WWE event on Saturday, according to a report in the German media.

Wiese retired from professional football in September, at the age of 32, having won the last of his six caps for Germany in 2012, but took up weightlifting after an unsuccessful move from Werder Bremen to Hoffenheim the same year.

He was in the Germany squad for the 2010 World Cup and made 194 Bundesliga appearances for Bremen, but played just 10 league matches for Hoffenheim after a disagreement with the club's bosses.

Pictures of the dramatically bulked up goalkeeper went viral on the internet in September and daily newspaper Bild claim the 32-year-old will make his debut at the "WWE Live Event" in Frankfurt on Saturday.

It is unclear whether he will compete in the Frankfurt ring or be part of an exhibition bout.

The six foot, three inch Wiese told Bild back in September that he has an offer to compete in the WWE as a professional wrestler and was considering the deal.

"I am not scared," he added.
