Report: Thunder have contacted point guard Ish Smith

To absolutely no one's surprise, the Oklahoma City Thunder are looking for a point guard in the wake of starter Russell Westbrook's injury.

TNT's David Aldridge reports that the Thunder have contacted speedy point guard Ish Smith, who last played for the Phoenix Suns last season.

The Thunder have help on the way in the form of Reggie Jackson, who should make his debut on Monday against the Brooklyn Nets. In the Thunder's last game on Saturday against the Denver Nuggets, the team had only one point guard on its active roster: Sebastian Telfair.

Smith has bounced around the league since signing as an undrafted free agent in 2010. His career averages of 2.9 points and two assists per game are pedestrian, but Smith is a quick guard who can use his speed to exploit certain matchups.

The Thunder have also reportedly been linked to free-agent point guard Gal Mekel. Other available free agent guards include Marquis Teague, Aaron Craft and Will Bynum.
