Victor Valdes' appearance at Old Trafford on Sunday will continue to fuel speculation surrounding the Spaniard's possible future in the Premier League.
Rumours about Liverpool signing the former Barcelona 'keeper faded away earlier in the month.
However, a link to Manchester United emerged when manager Louis Van Gaal offered Valdes a chance to complete his rehab at the club's training centre as he works towards fitness after tearing his ACL.
The link between Valdes and Van Gaal goes back to the Dutch manager's time at Barcelona when he ran the Catalan club at the beginning of the 'keeper's tenure with the senior squad.
