PHOTO: Pace of game clock unveiled at Arizona Fall League

One of Major League Baseball's initiatives to speed up play was on display at the Arizona Fall League opener Tuesday.

Check out the pace of game clock:

The top number on the clock is the amount of down time allocated to players between innings; the bottom number is the time a pitcher is granted to throw a pitch once receiving the ball.

MLB is testing out different pace of game options (see stack below) during the AFL, which runs through November. The amount of time big-league pitchers take between pitches is one area MLB would like to experiment with.

Detroit Tigers left-hander David Price took an average of 26.6 seconds between each pitch he threw this season, according to FanGraphs.com, which was longer than any qualified starting pitcher. Mark Buehrle of the Toronto Blue Jays clocked in as the fastest worker, averaging 17.3 seconds between pitches.
