Report: Dwight Howard's Florida license suspended, has had 27 traffic infractions

Dwight Howard can no longer drive in the state of Florida, at least until he clears up his Newman-like stack of outstanding tickets.

Howard's license in the state has been suspended after he failed to pay a ticket for running a red light, according to a report from ESPN on Tuesday. It is the latest in a long line of infractions that includes the following:

  • 12 citations for failing to pay highway tolls
  • 10 tickets for running red lights
  • Four speeding tickets
  • One citation for failing to change his address on his driver's license

The infractions are all considered civil traffic infractions, though all except an outstanding $285 fee for an April violation have been settled. His license is said to have been suspended since at least Aug. 15.

With Howard now playing for the Houston Rockets, it's unclear how much this will matter to him. He played with the Orlando Magic from 2004 to 2012 and could conceivably still visit there, so maybe he should break off a chunk of the $21.4 million he'll be paid this season to settle the matter.

And, you know, stop running red lights.
