Finally, Crystal Palace found their man.

The Eagles announced the hiring of Neil Warnock as their new manager on Wednesday, capping a tumultuous coaching search that began when Tony Pulis abruptly left the team 48 hours before the start of the season.

Warnock beat out Steve Clarke for the position, signing a two-year contract with the club.

The 65-year-old Warnock is a familiar face at Selhurst Park, where he roamed the touchline from 2007 to 2010 in charge of the Eagles.

Former Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay was ruled out of the running after racist, homophobic and sexist text messages were uncovered during his time with the Dragons.

Warnock's last managing job was with Leeds United.

Palace lost their first two league matches of the season under interim manager Keith Millen.
