Report: Pirates' Barmes expected to be activated from DL this week

After missing the last month and a half with a left groin strain, infielder Clint Barmes is expected to rejoin the Pittsburgh Pirates during their upcoming six-game home stand. 

The 35-year-old landed on the disabled list June 6 after appearing in 42 games. 

Despite limited success at the plate, Barmes does provide the Pirates with the ability to play around the diamond, as he's appeared at all four infield positions this season.

In 88 at-bats in 2014, Barmes is hitting .239/.320/.284 while adding four doubles and four RBIs.
